New Embers Badminton Club

We are a friendly club that has been running for more than 30 years in and around Chesterfield. We have a wide range of members, of all ages, with abilities ranging from social to league level, and always welcome new faces (see About us).

We meet twice a week for club nights which are open to all members. We also have a number of teams which play in the Chesterfield and Sheffield leagues, including mens doubles, ladies doubles and mixed doubles.

We are currently seeking new members. We are keen to see those who wish to play in the local mens, ladies and mixed leagues, and also those who wish to play in a more social setting (i.e. no matches!), although our club isn't really suitable for complete beginners. We also welcome young people who wish to improve or potentially try out league badminton. Parents are welcome to join in or observe.

You are welcome to come along for £4 a session (£3 for students). We appreciate that it's not always easy to be the new person, so we try our best to be welcoming.

For the 2012/13 season we are looking to enter additional Mixed and Mens Teams in the Chesterfield League so are keen to welcome league standard players to join the squads, particularly ladies, although the new teams would also provide development opportunities for junior players or those wishing to improve their game. If you want to play badminton but don't want the commitment of joining a club, just come and play whenever you like for £4 a session - no strings!
